-
Leaking when you sneeze, laugh, or exercise
-
Difficulty fully emptying your bladder or bowels

What to Expect During Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Step 1: Initial Evaluation
Your first visit includes a 1-on-1 assessment with a pelvic health specialist. We’ll discuss your history, symptoms, and goals, then evaluate posture, breathing, and pelvic floor activation.
Step 2: Guided Exercises
We introduce exercises that improve coordination, strength, and relaxation of the pelvic floor. These may also involve full-body movements to support core stability.
Step 3: Manual Therapy
If needed, we’ll use gentle hands-on techniques like soft tissue work or trigger point release to reduce tension and improve muscle function.
Step 4: Lifestyle Adjustments
We’ll offer guidance on posture, bathroom habits, hydration, or other daily routines that could impact your pelvic health.
Step 5: Ongoing Support
You’ll leave with a home exercise plan and return for check-ins to make sure you’re progressing and feeling stronger each week.
Exercises for Pelvic Floor Health You Can Start Today
You don’t need fancy equipment to start improving your pelvic floor. These beginner-friendly movements can help you build awareness and control — safely and gently.
Bridge Pose
To do this exercise, lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your hips while engaging your pelvic floor and glutes. Hold this position for five to 10 seconds and complete 15
repetitions. If this causes discomfort stop and talk to one of our physical therapists.
KegaL exercises
This exercise involves tightening the muscles you’d use to stop urine flow. Hold the contraction for five seconds, then relax for another five seconds. Repeat the process 10 to 15 times. You can do this simpleexercise almost anywhere, but avoid doing it while actually urinating.
Deep Breathing
Deep breathing exercises with pelvic floor engagement can make a big difference. Take a deep breath in, letting your belly expand. On the exhale, gently contract your pelvic floor muscles. Try for 10 mindful breaths every day.
